Foundation Training (FT) is a safe and effective therapeutic movement system created to help you change movement patterns that might be hurting you. Foundation Training focuses on strengthening the posterior chain – the back side of your body – and improving posture. FT also helps heal back pain, plantar fasciitis, sciatica, IT band syndrome, and other chronic posture-related aches and pains.
At the core of this movement technique is breath work and anchoring to decompress and stabilize the body. Gravity is constantly pushing down on our bodies and the way we hold ourselves in response to this can create compression and pain. Retraining how you breathe and where you send your breath makes huge changes not only in overall lung capacity, but also in how you move and feel in your body. FT is an incredible complement to any workout regime, including yoga, and can be incorporated easily into your daily life.
